Modern Approaches to Teeth Whitening: Effectiveness, Safety, and Future Prospects in Aesthetic Dentistry

This article provides an analytical review of modern tooth-whitening methods used in aesthetic dentistry. The paper discusses professional, at-home, and combined bleaching techniques, their mechanisms of action, clinical efficacy, and potential side effects. Special attention is given to the safety aspects of peroxide-based systems, their impact on dental hard tissues and restorative materials. The review summarizes current clinical findings demonstrating the effectiveness and reversibility of enamel alterations when appropriate protocols are followed. Future research directions aimed at developing biocompatible and minimally invasive whitening agents are also outlined.
